Location and Transportation
We are located approximately 40kms southwest of Sparta in the village of Ayios Demetrios and 20-45 minutes from 3 different coastlines and the beautiful island of Elafonisos. With prior arrangement, we can pick you up in:

  • Gythio, Neapolis, or Monemvasia pickup - no charge with prior arrangement
  • Mycenae or Nauplio pickup - 35€ Euro, 3 or more people.
  • Tripoli (train or bus station) pickup - 25€ euro, 3 or more people.
  • Athens (airport) pickup - $45€ Euro per person (multi-day trip only)

    There are several ways to get to us: by automobile, bus, ferry or train and bus combination. From Athens, the cheapest is to take the bus to Gythio, Neapolis, or Monemvasia, where we can pick you up, at no charge, with prior arrangement.

    Although the ferry system has changed in recent years, you will be able to get to Gythio or Neapolis by way of Crete. Ferries run from western Crete (Kastelli/Kissamos, Chania) to Kythira, Gythio, and Neapolis.

    For service to Leonidion or Moenmvasia, you'll need to check with a travel agent because hydrofoil operators have gone out of business. Or try your luck using the online ferry ticket system. Getting to the Southern Peloponnese

    BUS
    There is a (new) bus E93 connecting the Airport (door 5) with the bus terminal at Kiffissou street. The interval is generally 35 minutes (65 at night). In ATHENS, go to the bus station on 100 Kiffissou Street (Tel 210 512-4910, 210 512-4911 or 210 513-2601. To get to Terminal A either take a taxi or take bus number 051 from the corner of Zinonos and Menandrou streets. To get to this point go to Omonia Square and go down Agios Konstantinos and take a left on Menandrou (at the church of Ag Konstantinos) and walk 2 short blocks.

  • Option 1) ATHENS to GYTHIO in the Peloponnese - takes 4.5 hours and there are 5 buses a day.
  • Option 2) ATHENS to ASTROS/LEONIDION takes 3 hours and there are two buses every day.
  • Option 3) ATHENS to MONEMVASIA takes 6 hours and there are two every day.
  • Option 3) ATHENS to TRIPOLI in the Peleponnese. takes 2-hours and there are more then 15 buses a day,(0500-2200 hrs)

    TRAIN
    Trains run from Athens to Kalamata five times daily with stops in Corinth, Mycenae, and Tripoli.The two main railway stations in Athens are Peloponnissos and Larissa. You want the Peloponnissos station (Karilou 1, Athens. 210/522-4302).

    FERRY
    Ferry service in Greece has changed in the last two years. Check with a travel agent for tickets to the Peloponnese. You can try and use the online ferry ticket system, but you won't have much luck. Greek ferries online for tickets from for ferries from Piraeus to Gythio, Monemvasia or Neapolis, but you won't have much luck. Ferries also run from western Crete (Kastelli/Kissamos, Chania) to Kythira, Gythio, and Neapolis.
